Teensylink is a free link-shrinking and link-protecting website I built as an exercise to learn the Ruby on Rails web development framework. It features free realtime link stats, and optional link password and CAPTCHA protection.

Apple: Chatterbox 2.0

2005-2006

While working as a contract web developer at Apple from 2005-2006, I was given the opportunity to redesign and rebuild (with the help of some fantastic back-end developers) the UI of Chatterbox, an internally developed system Apple uses to send billions of emails to customers each year.

This was a challenging but rewarding project, as we were able to significantly speed, simplify, and de-frustrate-ize the daily work of dozens of Apple employees around the world — work which is very important to the company’s bottom line.

MoodLogic MP3 Jukebox

While I was Director of Product Design at MoodLogic, Inc., I designed the UI of the company’s flagship product, a Windows MP3 jukebox application named after the company. This app won many accolades (and loyal paying customers) for its slick interface and unique music identification, browsing, and playlist-generation features, many of which are still unparalleled.

While at MoodLogic, I designed and developed several DHTML and Flash-based streaming music players that used our unique music metadata to create personalized Internet radio channels based on user preferences. These apps used AJAX techniques long before the acronym had been coined and worked a lot like the now-popular Pandora.

Also while at MoodLogic, I designed and developed dozens of co-branded “Music Browsers” — web apps powered by our unique music metadata that allowed users to discover and purchase new music similar to artists & songs they already liked, or by selecting criteria such as genre, mood, tempo, etc.
